Turn travel notes, a text file, or a supported public article into a private trip draft. Platix extracts one editable day-by-day outline for you to review before it builds the trip.
Open itinerary import
On the landing page, find Existing itinerary and select Import an itinerary, or open itinerary import directly. See how it works opens the explanation page instead.
When you are signed in, you can also paste a day-by-day itinerary into the box at the top of the home page and select Plan my trip. Platix recognizes a plan you already have and opens this import review with your text, whatever its length. A request such as "five days in Lisbon" still opens Trip Setup instead.
Sign in if prompted. Platix returns you to the import flow after authentication. If import is temporarily unavailable for your account, use manual planning instead.
Choose your source and select Create
Use Paste or upload for copied text or a file. Paste into the itinerary field, or select the Upload a file icon. Supported files are TXT, MD, VTT, and SRT, up to 2 MB, and text-based PDFs where PDF import is on for your account (see [Import a PDF](#import-a-pdf)). Pasted text can contain up to 250,000 characters. Remove a selected file before switching back to pasted text.
To read a web page, choose Article link when available and enter the public article URL. Platix reads that page; it does not browse all the links on the website, sign in, bypass paywalls, or run JavaScript to reveal hidden content. If a page cannot be read, paste relevant text you have permission to use instead.
Add a Trip name if you want one, then select Create. This starts source processing, not final trip creation.
Do not include payment-card data, passwords, government ID numbers, private medical details, or supplier credentials. See Privacy and AI notes for how source text and derived records are processed and retained.
If your text does contain a card number, security code, private key, API key, a password written after "password:", or a passport or ID number, Platix replaces each one with a marker such as "[card number removed]" before anything reads the text, and deletes your original upload. Words alone, such as "secret beach", are left as written. The review lists what was removed (never the values), and you confirm you've seen it before the trip is created.
Review the extracted days and stops
Platix chooses a balanced, source-informed starting point and opens one editable outline. You do not need to choose a pace variant or source-fidelity mode before continuing.
If you arrived from Trip Check, the outline may also use planning guidance from that exact review. The guidance remains advisory: your original itinerary, saved edits, fixed bookings, and explicit choices take priority.
Each row shows a numbered drag handle, the extracted city or region, the day title, and its stop count. Days start collapsed so you can scan the route without a long wall of details. Select a day row to reveal its sights, meals, transport items, or other stops, then select it again to collapse that day.
This outline is a starting point, not the finished day-by-day plan. You can add stops yourself, but you do not have to fill every day. When you create the trip, Platix plans activities for each day using your saved outline and source material.
On this page you can:
- Select Add day to add another day.
- Drag a day's numbered handle to reorder it.
- Edit or remove a day with its pencil or trash control.
- Open a day to add, edit, or remove stops.
- Drag a stop's numbered handle to change its order within that day.
- Collapse individual days when you want to scan the overall route.
Changes save to the private outline as you make them. While a reorder is saving, its controls pause so the same change cannot be submitted twice. If the save fails, the list returns to its prior order. Removing a day also removes stops assigned to that day after you confirm the action. Fixed arrangements receive an additional warning before a structural change is saved.
An extracted stop is source evidence, not proof of a verified Google place, reservation, or current opening hours. Check the resulting draft for anything that could not be verified or fit safely.
Create the trip
Select Plan days and create trip once the route and any stops you want to keep look right. The outline becomes read-only while creation runs, and Platix shows an animated progress screen. The completed private trip opens automatically; there is no separate setup review page or Open trip step.
The imported trip starts private. Check its dates, overnight stays, place identities, stop order, transport, and meals, and open Planning health for what Platix noted while building it. Use trip review before relying on it or sharing it. You can keep editing in the normal trip workspace.
Keep it as written
If Keep it as written is available on your account, Creator Studio shows Import an itinerary under Premium trips, and the import screen offers two choices:
- Keep it as written keeps your days, items and wording, and only finds your places on the map. Nothing is added, reworded or moved without you.
- Let Platix plan the days is the planning import described above.

With Keep it as written, the review shows your itinerary as Platix read it:
- Placed by position marks an item that wasn't under a day heading. It goes after the day it follows, and you can move it.
- Trip notes lists sections for the whole trip, such as "Before you go". They become the trip's notes, after Transport and before Day 1, each titled by its heading. Move one to a day to make it a stop, or move a stop to Trip notes. Your introduction becomes the trip summary.
- Probably not part of the itinerary lists things like a table of contents or credits. They stay in your trip unless you select Leave them out.
- Left out: page furniture lists page numbers, repeated headers and separator lines. You can restore any of them.
- If your text has no days Platix can rely on, choose Lay out days myself, Let Platix plan the days, or Create it now and sort the days later.
You can edit an item's wording, move it to another day, reorder it, or leave it out. Platix records your edits as yours. If you didn't type a Trip name, the review fills it with your itinerary's own title, such as its first heading, and the rest of your introduction becomes the trip summary. Select Create my trip as written to create a private trip. It isn't listed, priced or published.
In the trip, each stop shows its name as the title and the rest of your words as its note. Heading and list marks such as # and - aren't shown. Each day goes by its heading without the day number, since Platix numbers the days ("Day 2 - Higashiyama" is Day 2, "Higashiyama"). A heading over a group of stops, such as "Where to eat", shows above the first of them. A length you wrote for a stop, such as "allow two hours" or "a 40-minute ferry", becomes its duration, and your words stay in its note. Anything your itinerary didn't say stays empty: a day without a stay shows "No stay set", a stop without a time shows "No set time", and a stop without a length you wrote shows no duration.
Platix looks up each place you name on the map, including streets, parks and neighbourhoods, in the area your day heading names, or else your trip's destination. A place it confirms gets its address and photos. When the place belongs to a meal or a stay, such as the restaurant for a dinner or the hotel you check in to, or when the map lists it under a slightly different name (for example without "Hotel", or in another language), the stop is marked Place found by Platix, and Publishing asks you to check it before you sell the trip. A place Platix couldn't match with certainty stays on its day as Map place not confirmed, with no pin, until you choose it. Tips, free time and transfers stay as text, without a pin or a route. Links in your notes stay exactly as you wrote them and can be opened.
Resume, retry, or cancel
While processing or planning is running, you can return to the same private source URL. Keep that URL so you can resume instead of submitting the same source again. Access still requires the correct account.
If you paste or upload text you've already turned into trips, Platix lists those trips first. Select Open to go back to one of them, or Create a new trip to start a fresh import from the same text. The earlier trips stay as they are.
For a retryable source failure, use Retry processing when offered. If the article is unsupported or blocked, change the source rather than repeatedly retrying the same URL. Cancel processing stops eligible source work; Delete source removes the source through a confirmation step. Neither is an undo button for a trip that has already been created.
Import a PDF
PDF import is being tested with a small group of creators. If it's on for your account, Upload a file also accepts PDFs.
- Use a text-based PDF, up to 20 MB and 80 pages. Scanned pages, password-protected or encrypted PDFs, and PDFs with forms, scripts or attached files can't be imported. Export a plain, text-based copy, or paste the text instead.
- Tick I'm permitted to upload this material and have Platix process it before you select Create. Only upload material you have the right to use.
- Platix checks the file, then reads its text. It doesn't open links, run anything in the file, or read images. Repeated page headers and footers are set aside.
- With Keep it as written, you check the text Platix read, page by page, and select Use this text before it becomes your itinerary. Columns and designed layouts can come out in a different order, so check that nothing is missing or out of order. If the text is jumbled, delete the source and paste the itinerary instead.
- Import can make mistakes. Review the trip before you rely on it, share it or sell it. Importing never lists, prices or publishes a trip.
- Platix keeps the PDF privately for up to 30 days, then deletes it. If its text had a card number or ID number, Platix deletes the PDF as soon as it has replaced them. Deleting the source deletes the PDF and the text read from it.
Agency PDFs and collections
Agency members with PDF import access use agency PDF import, which has its own advisor review process. To use saved places in an existing trip, use collection import.
