Trip notes hold tips for the whole trip, such as what to book first, what to pack, how to get around, or what to know before you go. Every trip has them, after Transport and before Day 1.
Add a note
- Open the trip overview.
- In Trip notes, select Add a trip note (the plus button).
- Give the note a title, such as "Before you go", and write the note.
- Select Add note.
A trip can have up to 30 notes, and a note up to 8,000 characters. For a longer guide, split it into two notes. Links in a note can be opened, and affiliate links say so.
Edit, reorder or delete
Select a note's title to open it. Its buttons edit the note, move it up or down, or delete it. Platix asks before deleting a note.
Move between notes and days
- Move a note to a day: open the note and choose the day under Move to a day. It becomes a stop at the end of that day, with the note's title and text, no set time and no map pin.
- Move a stop to the notes: open the stop's editor and select Move to trip notes. This is offered for a stop without a map place, photos or booking details, so nothing is lost. The stop's title and note become the trip note.
When you import an itinerary with Keep it as written, sections for the whole trip, such as "Before you go", become trip notes. You can move them in the review before the trip is created. See Import an existing itinerary.
Who sees trip notes
Everyone who can see the trip sees its notes: people you share it with, readers of a public trip, and the printed or saved PDF. A copy of the trip copies its notes.
For a premium trip, the listing shows the first note as a free preview (the whole note, or its first paragraph when it is long) and only the titles of the others. Buyers get every note in full.
Advisors choose whether a client proposal includes the trip notes, as with the trip summary. They are left out unless you select Trip notes.
