Guest Trip Check, the free itinerary checker, gives you a focused second opinion on a day-by-day itinerary before you create a Platix account or turn the plan into a trip. It works the same way for a plan you wrote, one from a blog or an advisor, and one ChatGPT wrote.
What to include
Paste enough context for the reviewer to understand the shape of the trip:
- Who is traveling, including children or accessibility needs that affect pace.
- Travel dates or season.
- Overnight cities and how you plan to move between them.
- A day-by-day outline.
- Anything already booked or otherwise fixed.
- Alternatives written clearly, such as "Arashiyama or the Railway Museum."
Do not include passport details, payment information, booking codes, or other sensitive personal data.
Ask a focused question
The question is optional. Use it when you want the review to emphasize something specific, such as:
- Is this realistic for a family at a moderate pace?
- What are the three most important changes?
- Which travel day assumes too much?
- What already works and should be preserved?
The reviewer should answer your question before suggesting a replacement plan. It will only include a revised outline when you ask for one.
Read the review
The response may cover overall feasibility, what already works, the most important changes, day-by-day notes, seasonal considerations, and details to verify. Missing meal or hotel details are treated as unknown rather than automatically wrong.
The review assesses the itinerary you supplied; it does not ask you to choose a new trip length. Your dates, day order, bookings, and fixed commitments remain the starting point. Suggestions are advice, not changes already applied to your plan. If you choose Save and build this trip, you can edit the extracted outline before creation. A complete extracted outline keeps its day count rather than using an AI-recommended duration.
The full review is available without an account. When the visual preview is available, Platix also shows a read-only outline before the review:
- Up to 30 days from the itinerary, with the original day order preserved.
- Fixed, optional, flexible, and planned items when those states are clear in the text.
- The overnight-city sequence, including a return to a city visited earlier.
- A city-level map using no more than 10 unique route anchors.
The map is a visual city sequence, not turn-by-turn directions. It does not resolve activities to Google places, fetch place photos, or add facts to the review. Longer itineraries can still receive a written review within the input limit, even when the visual preview is shortened or unavailable. Save and build this trip requires a complete outline of no more than 30 days; Platix will not silently shorten a longer itinerary to create a trip. Dates include both arrival and departure: November 8-30 is 23 days, and all 23 days fit.
Guest Trip Check does not browse the web. Confirm current transport schedules, opening hours, availability, prices, weather, visa rules, and entry requirements with authoritative sources.
What happens to the itinerary

Reviewing alone does not save the pasted itinerary as a trip or as chat history. It sends the itinerary and optional question to OpenAI to produce the review and, when supported, a bounded planning advisory. Platix keeps the submitted text, extracted preview, AI review, and any planning advisory in restricted quality and debugging records for up to 180 days. These records help us investigate failures and improve Trip Check; they are not visible to other travelers and are not used to train a Platix general-purpose foundation model.
When the map preview is enabled, Platix sends no more than 10 extracted city or overnight-base labels to Google to resolve coarse map coordinates. It does not send the complete itinerary to Google. The visual preview and resolved coordinates are temporary and read-only.
After reading the result, choose Save and build this trip if you want to continue. Only then does Platix hold the pasted source temporarily while you sign in. The handoff expires after about one hour and is limited to the account that claims it. You can review and edit the extracted days and stops before Platix creates a private editable trip. Signing in by itself never creates a trip.
Once that trip is created, open Planning health → Original Trip Check to revisit the review you saw before building it. The notes remain a historical snapshot; editing days and stops does not change them. Only the trip owner can read them, even if the trip is later shared or made public. Current review checks the trip as it stands now and is separate from the original notes.
To come back to a review later, or on another device, choose Email me this review. The email has the review, the outline and a link that reopens it for 7 days, and Platix sends one reminder. See Privacy and AI review notes for Trip Check for what is kept.
If the temporary handoff expires before you create a trip, return to Trip Check and submit the itinerary again. Quality records are not a traveler-facing history and cannot be restored through the product. A review is kept in Planning health only after a private trip is successfully created.
Guest Trip Check and plan health review are different
Guest Trip Check is a quick semantic second opinion on pasted text. The saved-trip plan health review works from structured days and stops and can attach deterministic findings and scores to the affected parts of a trip. Use Guest Trip Check before signup; use the structured review when you want to keep editing and rechecking a mapped itinerary.
Five examples of a useful trip check
These fabricated itineraries show different questions a review should answer. They are examples of what to look for, not transcripts of other travelers' private reviews:
- A mostly workable Italy train itinerary: preserve a good plan and keep suggestions proportionate.
- A packed Spain and Portugal family route: reduce transfers without moving fixed commitments.
- An October Iceland road trip: account for daylight and weather uncertainty without pretending to forecast conditions.
- A rough London and Paris outline: respect mobility needs, alternatives, and unconfirmed dates.
- A Japan family trip with a Tokyo-to-Osaka park day: surface the biggest route problem while preserving what works.
