Trip Check can review a pasted itinerary without an account. This page explains what happens to the text, how the optional map works, and what changes if you choose to save a trip.
Before you submit
Your itinerary and optional review question are sent to OpenAI to produce the review and, when supported, a bounded planning advisory such as a proposed duration or base-and-day-trip grouping. The advisory is created in the same model call, stays separate from traveler-stated facts, and is not a booking or fixed instruction. Do not paste passport numbers, payment details, booking codes, or other sensitive personal information. You can leave out names and reservation references without losing the route, pace, or logistics context needed for a useful review.
The AI review may be incomplete or wrong. Trip Check does not check live schedules, opening hours, availability, prices, weather, or entry requirements. Verify important current details with the relevant providers and official sources.
What Platix keeps after a review
Reviewing alone does not create a trip or chat history. Platix keeps the submitted text, extracted preview, AI review, and any planning advisory in restricted quality and debugging records for up to 180 days. These records help investigate failures and improve Trip Check; they are not a traveler-facing review history and are not visible to other travelers.
When you submit, the page's address changes to a private link for that check. If the page reloads or your phone closes it while you wait, opening that address again shows the result, or that Platix is still working on it. The link works for 7 days, and Platix keeps your text and the result for that time so it can. Anyone with the link can see both, so do not share it. The review is not saved to a Platix account; to keep working with it, choose Save and build this trip from the result.
If you email yourself a review
Email me this review sends the review, the itinerary outline and its route map to the address you give, with a link that reopens the review on any device for 7 days. Platix keeps the address with the review for those 7 days to send that email and one reminder 3 days later, and does not add you to the newsletter. Unsubscribing, from the email or with your email app's unsubscribe button, stops every later reminder to that address. Platix then keeps only a one-way hash of the address to honor that. Anyone with the emailed link can open the review, so do not forward it.
What the map uses
When the optional map preview is available, Platix sends no more than 10 extracted city or overnight-base labels to Google to resolve coarse map coordinates. The complete pasted itinerary is not sent to Google for this step. Your browser also loads Google Maps to display the city sequence. This is a read-only overview, not verified directions or a list of resolved activity locations.
The visual preview may show fewer days or places than the written review. That does not shorten the review of your pasted text.
If you choose to save and build
Selecting Save and build this trip creates a temporary, private handoff while you sign in. It expires after about one hour and is limited to the account that claims it. Signing in by itself does not create a trip: you first review and edit the extracted days and stops, then start creation.
The handoff may carry the validated planning advisory from that exact review so Platix can prepare a more useful editable outline without re-reading the review prose. It is matched by the review request, account, and original source hash. Platix does not search older reviews for advice. Your confirmed edits and previously stated fixed details always outrank the advisory.
After a private trip is created, its owner can revisit the original review in Planning health → Original Trip Check. That review is a historical snapshot, so later edits to the trip do not rewrite it. Only the trip owner can read those original notes, even if the trip is later shared or made public. The Current review checks the trip as it stands now and is separate from the original notes.
