The trip map gives geographic context to the overview route and to the stops within a selected day.
Search in trip context
The map search ranks results around the trip rather than your physical location. Depending on the current view, Platix searches near the selected stop, the selected day, or the center of the visible map.
This improves nearby ranking but does not restrict results to that area. Include a city or country in the query when a name is ambiguous.
Select a stop
Selecting a stop in the left panel recenters the trip map and opens the same rich place detail used in Explore. The detail can include address, opening status, opening hours, website, phone, rating, and media when Google provides them.
Dragging the map does not trigger automatic recentering. Selecting a stop in the list or a search result can focus its location; clicking a place directly on the map opens details without forcing the map back to its center.
Understand the overview route
For each day, the overview route prefers:
- The day's accommodation stop.
- The last located stop when there is no accommodation.
- The saved overnight location as a fallback.
This keeps route lines useful even when lodging has not been added yet.
Map controls
Use the Map/Satellite control in the top-right corner to switch layers. The scale ruler estimates distances at the current zoom level. It is an estimate, not a route distance.
Add a place from the map
Select a point of interest or search result to inspect its details. From the detail, add it as a stop on the appropriate day. The selected Place ID and rich details are saved with the stop.
