Collections are useful before you know the exact itinerary. When the places start to feel like a real route, turn one or more collections into a trip draft and review the result before sharing it.
Start from Explore
- Open Explore places.
- Choose a collection from the saved places panel.
- Select Create trip.
- Choose the collections to use as source material.
- Enter the trip name and start date.
- Choose whether Platix should recommend the trip length or use an exact number of days.
- Select Start AI plan.
Platix creates a private planning draft first. Review the days, stops, map, pacing, dates, and notes before making it public or sending it to anyone else.
Choose how selected places are used
When selected-place planning is available, Use only selected places treats every saved place as an explicit input. Platix groups the places by geography, distributes them across practical days, and does not replace them with newly discovered attractions. If the requested trip is too short, the draft identifies the selected places that still need attention instead of silently removing them.
When available, Add helpful places nearby keeps the selected places as the priority and uses remaining schedule capacity for a bounded number of useful nearby additions. Added places are suggestions and never replace a selected place.
Restaurants, lodging, stations, and attractions keep their planning roles. A selected hotel is not turned into a sightseeing stop, and a selected station remains route context.
Use more than one collection
A multi-city trip can start from several collections. For example, a Japan trip might use separate Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka collections.
Select the additional collections in the dialog, then choose whether to keep their order or let Platix optimize the route. Keeping the order is useful when you already know the travel direction. Optimizing is useful when the collections are ideas and you want Platix to arrange them by geography and pacing.
What collections can be used
You can make a trip from collections you can open: your own collections, public collections, unlisted collections available by link, and private collections shared with you as a viewer or editor.
Collections you cannot access do not appear in the picker and cannot be used through the API. If a collection is removed, made private, or no longer shared with you, it stops being available as source material.
Review the draft
After the draft is created, check the trip like any other itinerary:
- Confirm the trip title, dates, and visibility.
- Check whether each day has a realistic route.
- Remove places that do not fit the traveler or trip length.
- Add missing hotels, meals, transport, bookings, and notes.
- Use the map to catch unnecessary backtracking.
- Check the selected-place summary for the number scheduled and still needing attention.
