The most useful thing about a public trip is not that it gives you a finished answer. It gives you a shape. You can see how someone divided a region into days, where they chose to sleep, and which places made the route feel coherent.
That structure is often more helpful than a generic list of recommendations. Lists make everything look equally possible. A trip has tradeoffs baked into it.
What to borrow
Borrow the decisions that are hard to make from scratch: the direction of travel, the number of nights, the rough pacing, and the clusters of stops. Then adjust the pieces that are personal.
- Change the stays if your budget or pace is different
- Fork the trip before editing
- Replace stops that do not match your interests
- Keep notes about why you changed the route

Starting from a public trip should not make your itinerary less personal. It should get you past the blank page faster. Once the route exists, the real work is choosing what belongs to you.
